SOFTBALL FACE MASKS

WAIVER

At the January Executive Committee it was approved to waive the ASA rule requiring the wearing of a face mask which is NOCSAE approved for the 2005 season. 

Schools MAY permit the student athletes to wear batting helmets with attached face masks. 

RATIONALE

 This waiver was requested due to limited availability of NOCSAE approved facemasks and the late notification of the “NOCSAE approved” requirement. 

 FUTURE
Schools should be prepared to outfit all softball teams with NOCSAE approved facemasks for the 2006 season.
